In November 2024, the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA) Lagos State Chapter presented the 18th edition of its annual exhibition, “October Rain,” under the theme “Art Through the Mill.” This year’s exhibition was notably significant as it honored the legendary Professor Bruce Onobrakpeya, a foundational figure in Nigerian art.

The exhibition paid tribute to Professor Bruce Onobrakpeya, a UNESCO Living Human Treasure and a pivotal member of the Zaria Rebels—a group instrumental in the renaissance of contemporary Nigerian art. His enduring passion and dedication to the arts have profoundly influenced generations of artists. In recognition of his invaluable contributions, Professor Onobrakpeya was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the exhibition.
